Officials say the company’s permit should be revoked for three violations on July 4. That’s the day 15-year-old Tyler Madoff from White Plains was swept off the west coast of the Big Island.
The parents of a White Plains teen who was swept out to sea in Hawaii have filed a federal wrongful death lawsuit against the tour company. The Madoff family alleged that on July 4, tour guides made a series of fatal decisions, including allegedly taking teens to a restricted area of coastline that broke the itinerary and ignoring high-surf advisories. The tour company has said this was a freak accident.
Fifteen-year-old Tyler Madoff’s parents say Bold Earth Teen Adventures showed poor judgment and no staff members stayed at the site to search for their son.
