NYPD: Union Square Fatal Stabbing Suspect Left ‘Sorry’ Note Before Fleeing To Mexico

“It’s a note that just basically makes a statement of that he was sorry,” Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said. He stopped short of calling the note a confession.

Sources: Mistaken Identity May Not Have Played Role In Soccer Coach Slaying

Authorities: Man Suspected Of Killing Soccer Coach Near Union Square Fled The Country

Authorities said Orlando Orea, who also goes by other aliases, bought a one-way ticket to Mexico City on an Aero Mexico flight just moments before it was scheduled to leave John F. Kennedy Airport on Tuesday morning.

Cops: Investigators Making Progress In Hunt For Union Square Killer

Jones was pronounced dead on arrival at Bellevue Hospital. Police said a bar fight may have led to the fatal slashing.

Beloved Soccer Coach Affiliated With Red Bulls Brutally Slashed To Death

Michael Jones was found lying on the ground on 14th Street between 5th and 6th avenues around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, police said. He had been slashed several times in the head, neck and chest and one of his ears was cut off.
