Goodson pleaded not guilty to drug and weapons charges Wednesday at Morris County Superior Court in New Jersey.
Goodson was arrested early Friday and charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and weapons offenses.
“We’re trying to win games and do the right thing,” Johnson said. “Truth, justice and the American way. We live by it, we really do. We have a strong credo, very proud people, very intelligent people that work in our building.”
New York Jets running back Mike Goodson is facing drug and weapons charges after he was found in a car with an acquaintance early Friday morning on Interstate 80 in New Jersey.
“Whoever they bring in, I don’t care,” McKnight said on Thursday in the locker room. “You understand that? I don’t care who they bring in. They’ll have to kill me to take my spot.”
If you know anything about how the Jets operated prior to this offseason, you are very much aware that Florham Park, N.J., was the NFL’s version of the Wild West. But then John Idzik rode into town on an old paint.
The running back will have a chance to fill the shoes left behind by Shonn Greene, who signed with the Tennessee Titans earlier this week.
The free-agent running back, who wasn’t expected to re-sign with the Jets, will join Chris Johnson in Tennessee’s backfield.
