Four detectives who were involved in the manhunt for Det. Peter Figoski’s killers testified in the murder trial of Lamont Pride on Monday.
Defendant Lamont Pride said that he was trying to escape a robbery when he was confronted by a hooded man with a gun in his hand. He said that after a struggle, a shot went off.
A judge declared a mistrial Wednesday after a jury in Newark couldn’t reach a verdict in the case against Paul Bergrin. The panel had deliberated for six days.
