The two cases bring the total in the state to four. All four patients are residents of Cumberland County.
The government says 170 people now have been sickened in the meningitis outbreak linked to tainted steroid shots, and 14 of them have died.
So far, no cases of the fungal meningitis have been reported in the Tri-State Area.
Blumenthal said the compound pharmacies appear to operate in a “regulatory black hole,” which must be closed.
Health Commissioner Mary O’Dowd said no cases have been uncovered in New Jersey, but in a statement said “This is an ongoing investigation and the full scope of the affected patients and facilities is not yet known.”
