This is no time to step back from serious justice being meted out to offending players. Lives are at stake and so is the reputation of the National Hockey League.
The Sabres forward shoved Rangers center Brad Richards from behind and into the boards on Sunday night. Richards did, however, take part in New York’s morning skate on Tuesday morning.
“No need for it,” Richards said of the hit after New York’s 3-2 shootout win. “That’s not a hit that was ever in the game, I don’t think. That’s a little different than (a) headshot. That’s just stupidity.”
