Police Commissioner Kelly
Former New York City Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, who presided over a dramatic drop in crime rates during a long and sometimes controversial tenure as head of the country’s largest force, has a book deal.
New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly is honoring a man who helped arrest a suspect accused of groping little girls and assaulting a detective.
Their patrol cars have the words “Courtesy, Professionalism, Respect” painted on them but one city street vendor claims that he has received the opposite treatment from an NYPD officer.
“It was not commissioned by Commissioner Kelly, and I don’t know who it was commissioned by,” spokesman Paul Browne said.
The Reverend Al Sharpton and a group of community leaders called on Police Commissioner Kelly to suspend NYPD Deputy Inspector Christopher McCormack on Saturday.
The New York Police Department will soon launch an all-seeing “Domain Awareness System” that combines several streams of information to track both criminals and potential terrorists.
As the officer’s family released new images of Figoski with his four daughters, the mayor said more needs to be done to stop criminals from obtaining guns like the one that killed the dedicated officer and devoted father.
