Florham Park police said Enunwa pulled a woman off a bed in a hotel on Aug. 31 in Florham Park — the town where the Jets practice — and she injured her head and finger. The woman decided to not pursue the case.
A New York Jets practice-squad player is due in court in two weeks on domestic-violence charges, possibly to have a trial date set.
Police say Enunwa, a sixth-round draft pick out of Nebraska, grabbed the woman by her ankle and pulled her off a bed, “causing her to strike and injure both her head and finger,” according to a police complaint obtained by NJ.com.
Saying only that he was “aware of the situation,” Jets head coach Rex Ryan confirmed on Wednesday that practice squad player Quincy Enunwa was recently arrested following a fight at a New Jersey hotel.
The New York Jets picked a pair of wide receivers in the fourth round of the NFL Draft, selecting Oklahoma’s Jalen Saunders at No. 104 and UCLA’s Shaquelle Evans 11 spots later. In the sixth, they took QB Tajh Boyd.
