Hundreds of mourners gathered Monday for the funeral of Harrison Mayor Raymond McDonough, who apparently suffered a massive heart attack on Wednesday afternoon.
Funeral services will be held Monday for the longtime mayor of Harrison who died after collapsing in his Town Hall office.
The lifelong Harrison resident had served on the Town Council for 17 years before becoming mayor in 1995. He was credited with spearheading the redevelopment of the 1.2-square-mile Hudson County town on the Passaic River.
The race for governor in New Jersey was officially underway this weekend, with Democratic state Sen. Barbara Buono kicking off her campaign, and incumbent Republican Gov. Chris Christie out meeting voters and collecting endorsements.
