Thanksgiving may have been 2 weeks ago, but heading out into the cold weather for lunch, we were thankful the Red Hook Lobster Truck was parked nearby.
No longer a menu item found only at swanky haunts, lobster rolls are now served in fast-casual eateries and even from food trucks. Here is our list of 2013’s best lobster rolls.
Red Hook’s lobster rolls are $16, which is more than I usually spend for lunch. Is it worth the extra lunch money? One thing was immediately clear: They didn’t skimp on lobster. This sucker was packed with lobster meat. In fact, the roll was so full that it was a little tricky to pick up at first, but I managed.
The Lobster BLT comes on the same lightly-toasted, top-sliced bun they use for the lobster rolls. In addition to a healthy dose of lobster mixed with apple chipotle mayo, there are 2 thick slices of bacon and tomato on the bun.
Just days after Luke’s Lobster debuted their truck selling their wildly popular lobster rolls, the competition has come clawing for some street action as well.
