While taking shots at Jann Wenner, Patti Smith and others, Stanley reaffirmed his speech at the Rock Hall induction ceremony and clarifies that it was Gene Simmons, not him, who said those ‘borderline racist’ comments.
The 29th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was underway Thursday night at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
He has a few things he’d like to say about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And he’d like to clear up the supposed lawsuit from Eric Carr’s “heirs.”
This list includes five of the best rock ‘n roll cities in America, with honorable mentions to the cities of Austin, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, Philadelphia and Seattle.
The other acts set to be enshrined in Cleveland are Donna Summer, Albert King, Rush, Heart and Randy Newman.
After just one song in the headlining set, Flea announced, “We’re playing this show tonight for Adam Yauch,” and then launched into the bass line from the Beastie Boys’ rap-rock classic, “Gratitude,” from their 1992 album, “Check Your Head.”
The Jersey boys are up for possible induction in the hallowed hall, along with first-timers Donovan, Dr. John, Alice Cooper and Neil Diamond.
