Two construction workers found themselves hanging on for dear life after their scaffolding gave way in midtown Manhattan.
Two scaffold maintenance workers trapped for more than an hour on a collapsed scaffold high above the streets of Midtown Manhattan have been rescued.
“One side of the scaffold started to slip very fast. I don’t know what happened or why. It just started to slip very fast,” said Anmar Mohammed of Astoria.
The scaffold hung precariously 17 stories high as emergency rescue personnel responded to the scene just as one of the workers was trying to get into the building through a window.
The brick facade of a 2-story building at 305 West 125th Street, which was being demolished, collapsed and sent debris onto a city bus carrying 30 passengers.
