Five adult day care centers have found themselves in hot water with the State of New Jersey, and have been asked to pay settlements totaling more than $10 million.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday he has sent letters to landlords, ordering them to restore services damaged by Superstorm Sandy as temperatures drop, and use the city’s Rapid Repair Program if they have not done so.
The law would have required such centers to detail whether they provided abortions or emergency contraception, and whether they had a licensed medical provider on-site. The law was to go into effect on Thursday.
