Riders thought it was a bullet but the MTA said it was probably a rock that shattered a window on a train on Sunday night.
A Staten Island Railway train car derailed Thursday, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says the train went off the tracks when it hit a “bumping block” at the station.
Officials said Steven Santiago saw a drunken man struggling to get off the tracks at the New Dorp station around 1:30 a.m. Sunday and sprung into action, jumping down to help him.
