By now we all know the Mets’ owners are trying to sell a portion of the franchise. According to the New York Daily News, the Wilpons and Saul Katz are one step closer.
Of all the groups reported to be bidding on the Mets, one name stands out. Doug Ellin, creator of HBO’s “Entourage.” And according to the Daily News, Ellin “will enlist actors Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Ed Burns” if the sale goes his way.
The New York Times is reporting the Mets are seeking $200 million for a minority portion of the team. According to the paper, the team’s owners are also telling potential bidders that they might sell a portion of their cable network SNY.
