Residents had filed complaints but didn’t realize how serious the situation was until they came home Tuesday to find that doors were no longer closing properly.
A pedestrian was killed Friday night After being struck by a car, shortly after 9 p.m. in Suffolk County.
NYC Transit spokeswoman Deirdre Parker said the accident occurred at 77th Street and Lexington Avenue. The person was struck by a downtown No. 6 train at 2:24 a.m. Friday.
Police said the victim was crossing the Bruckner Expressway when he was struck by a Toyota traveling eastbound. As the driver pulled over, an eastbound BMW struck the pedestrian a second time.
