An NYPD sergeant headed to work jumped onto the subway tracks to rescue a man who was about to commit suicide in Brooklyn Tuesday, police said.
A 2-year-old child rolled onto the subway tracks in Queens Monday and survived, thanks to the quick action of the little girl’s mother and that of a subway cleaner who helped the frightened mother grab her child before a train arrived.
Leon Sims, 25, of Brooklyn, has been charged with two counts of felony assault in connection with the Sept. 22 attack.
Police on Monday were asking for help from the public in finding a suspect who beat a man with a pipe at a Brooklyn subway station and sent him crashing down onto the tracks.
Sources said Monday that a woman who was found dead on the No. 1 subway tracks over the weekend was drinking before she fell onto the tracks.
