On Saturday, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney joined health officials in announcing a new initiative that would establish a nationwide ban on the use of tanning beds by those who are less than 18-years-old.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has signed a new law barring anyone under the age of 17 from using tanning beds.
The Assembly’s Women and Children Committee passed the measure Monday by a 5-0 vote. It now heads to the full Assembly for consideration, but it’s not known when a vote will be held.
