An 83-year-old Bronx woman came face-to-face with muggers this week, but she didn’t back down.
Police on Wednesday were searching for a suspect who knocked an 83-year-old woman to the floor of a building when she refused to give up her purse in the Bronx.
It happened around 9:30 a.m., on Friday. The suspect engaged the old man and assisted him as he walked. She escorted him into a deli on Tremont Avenue where she removed a $100 bill from the man’s pocket and took off.
The woman was followed around 6:45 a.m. to the second flood of her building in Tremont, where the suspect grabbed her and attempted to rape her, police said.
Residents and subway riders are having quite a tough time trying to traverse a walkway along the Grand Concourse at 175th Street in Tremont.
It happened just after 4 a.m. on West Burnside Avenue in Tremont.
