The New York Giants have placed one-time Super Bowl hero Mario Manningham and free agent signee Trindon Holliday on injured reserve in reaching the 53-man roster limit.
The Giants are remaking themselves with a lot of the new and a little bit of the old. That’s not to say Mario Manningham is by any means old.
Players on both teams have experienced chilly conditions during games, of course, although they don’t regularly brace for the sort of brrrr that’s anticipated for this Super Bowl.
The eight teams left in the NFL playoffs can thank their special teams for a good part of their success. That’s one reason players are still upset that Commissioner Roger Goodell has floated the idea of abolishing kickoffs altogether.
