United States Postal Service Backs Down On Cutting Saturday Delivery

The Postal Service said in February that it planned to cut back in August to five-day-a-week deliveries for everything except packages, as a way to hold down losses.

In an announcement Wednesday, postmaster general and CEO Patrick R. Donahoe said the Saturday mail cutback will begin the week of Aug. 5.
