Cell Phone, Wi-Fi Service Expanding To 40 Additional Underground Subway Stations

Straphangers will be able to use their smartphones and other devices in 40 more underground stations in midtown Manhattan and Queens.

New York City plans to offer free public Wi-Fi in commercial districts in all five boroughs, officials said Monday.

More Subway Stations To Get Cell, Wi-Fi Service

Six stations are already wired for service and 30 more stations will come online in groups of five, including Times Square, Herald Square and Columbus Circle, by this summer.
