Wrongful Death Lawsuit
The mother of a mentally ill and diabetic inmate who died after spending seven days locked inside a Rikers Island jail cell announced Wednesday that she had filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
The judge said Friday that because the owner of New York Crane and Equipment, James Lomma, is in the hospital and could not attend court proceedings, the trial would be postponed until September.
