NYC's 4 Best Champagne Bars

The holidays are a time of celebration - and what says "festive" better than a glass of champagne?  While New York is full of bars, champagne-specific haunts are hard to come by.  If it's bubbly you want, check out one of our four favorite  hot spots.

Flûte

Both Flûte locations have a unique feel.  The Gramercy location is the bigger of the two, and feels like an upscale living room turned bar (if your living room had little nooks to cuddle up in, and a never ending supply of bubbly). The Midtown location feels much more speakeasy-esque. At this basement level lounge things are small, dark, and definitely sexy.  The atmosphere at both is aided with live jazz. True connoisseurs may want to take part in their champagne classes.

Bubble Lounge

This Tribeca champagne lounge isn't cheap, but it if you're a true champagne lover you'll appreciate the knowledgeable staff, selection, and even the champagne cocktails.  While you're there, go ahead and eat something - like the duck meatballs or the chocolate chip cookies.  The ambiance is chic and comfortable.  You won't have to worry about hard bar stools, this lounge is full of comfy couches and oversized chairs to curl up in.

Crisp, clean, and classy, the champagne bar at the Plaza Hotel is reminiscent of the Champagne Porch that opened there in 1907.  The décor is lush, and elegant, and the champagne list is epic, as are the cocktails. You'll feel like you gone back to a time when sitting to sip was an art form.

The Bourgeois Pig

111 E 7th Street
New York, NY 10009
(212) 475-2246

This East Village staple isn't specifically a champagne bar, but it's a dark and comfy lounge with a giant wine list - including a respectable champagne selection that won't hinder your ability to pay the rent next month. If you're looking for a little bubbly without the ego, this is a great place to grab a flute and relax with a date.
