Q: Welcome to Defend Your Ride New York. Can you tell me your name and where we are today?

A: My name is Hassan and I’m here on 59th Street in Midtown Manhattan. I’m here for work. I’m waiting to pick up a client.

Q: What can you tell me about your ride?

A: I have a Mercedes Benz 2012 R350.

Q: Wow, so brand spanking new? How many miles does it have?

A: Odometer? I have 140 miles. I just received it like two days ago.

Q: I can smell the new from here! What do you like about your Mercedes?

A: I love this Mercedes because it has four-wheel drive. For the snow, it is wonderful. My old car was not good in the snow. I had to stay home a lot and missed out on some work. This one automatically switches to 4×4 with the snow, or ice, or heavy rain.

Q: If you could go anywhere on a day trip, where would you go?

A: For fun, sometimes I go to Atlantic City. Sometimes I’ll go see some friends or go to the coffee shop to play chess. I’m a grand master at chess.

Q: Do you like to listen to any music in the car?

A: I like to listen to the radio.

Q: If your car had a human emotion, what would it be?

A: This would be a happy car.

Q: Does your car have a nickname?

A: Hans. It’s a German car and that’s a good German name.

Q: Hans the Mercedes. I like it. Do you own or lease?

A: The company I work for bought this car. Then they deduct each month from my paycheck.

Q: What would you like your next car to be?

A: I’d like to have an Escalade, but the business is not like it was before. I hope it’s going to be up again.

Q: And your dream car, what would that be?

A: I’m already driving 12 hours a day, so I don’t need a car for myself. That’s crazy. That’s enough for me man.
