Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week kicks off tonight with the fourth annual Fashion’s Night Out. As editors, designers, models and fashion fanatics stylishly flood the streets and stores, you won’t want to miss the night’s highlights. We’ve rounded up the best shopping events with freebies and fun, just for you. Wear comfortable – and cute – footwear and attend your favorite events from our list to sip cocktails and rub elbows with celebrities and fashion designers. By Sarah Shaker.
Saks Fifth Avenue
Expect fashion’s brightest and best to swing by. Oscar de la Renta will be on hand to celebrate his new fragrance launch; and Erin Fetherston, Rebecca Minkoff and Kimberly Ovitz will also appear. It’s a who’s who of fashion designers, so you won’t want to miss these celeb sightings.
We all know that “girls just wanna have fun,” so check out Cyndi Lauper performing at Manolo Blahnik’s 54th St boutique at 9 p.m. in honor of her new musical, Kinky Boots.
Show off your Broadway belt with karaoke and complimentary cocktails (for liquid courage, of course) at Alexis Bittar’s Soho boutique. Those brave enough to take the mic will also receive a $50 gift certificate to shop, so “sing out, Louise”!
Guest DJ Solange Knowles will spin, while Vogue editor Meredith Melling Burke styles, as you sip on free cocktails and receive makeup touch-ups from MAC artists at Diane von Furstenberg’s Meatpacking District store.
Enjoy free drinks, sweet treats and a complimentary Birchbox with a purchase of $100 or more. Because updating your wardrobe and makeup bag go hand in hand.
RARE by F.S. Charlie Salon
Located in the heart of Tribeca, this hip downtown salon is hosting an exclusive Fashion’s Night Out event for both fashion and beauty lovers. Rare will co-host the evening with SAYWE organization (South Asian Young Woman Entrepreneurs), showcasing the latest trends in city hairstyles and luxury shopping, of course. Stop by the salon from 8:30pm – 11:00pm to enjoy free cocktails, while you preview designers and get expert tips to have your mane ready for fall.
Michael Kors makes an appearance for Kors Karaoke with beauties Nikki Reed, Kate Upton and Nina Arianda. Enjoy the music, enter sweepstakes and sip on Prosecco at this shopping soiree.
The Shops at Target
For one night only, Target will open near the High Line to showcase its fall installment of The Shops at Target. We’re pretty sure it will be one of the hottest FNO destinations of the evening, because it lets New Yorkers shop the collection before it hits stores nationwide.
