New York is home to countless events that draw international attention, including the biannual New York Fashion Week. While everyone will be paying attention to see what is seen on the runway, there are countless events and afterparties that make NYFW unforgettable. Here are some of the hottest events to check this Fashion Week.

Lord & Taylor has become one of New York's most iconic department stores and is taking part in fashion week frenzy. Start New York Fashion Week on September 7 with the launch of their new exclusive contemporary brand, Highline Collective, which will showcase new items each week. During the launch party, people will have the chance to customize their purchase with a selection of patches and pins. To close out the Fashion Week on September 14, Lord & Taylor will unveil their Fall Collection of Birdcage, which is a French-inspired shop located on their main floor.

As people get ready to watch the fashion presentations, it is imperative that they look their best. Before heading to the shows, people can stop at the exclusive Beauty Bar presented by Cottonelle on September 8 and 9. With an invitation, fashionistas can stop by the luxury beauty bar to receive complementary blowouts, makeup touch-ups, manicures and waxes from PRIV spa. Guests can test new looks with the YouCam digital makeover, sample beauty products, recharge at a Corso coffee bar and receive words of encouragement from Nature Bounty's compliment mirror. While fashion week is all about seeing the upcoming trends, the hottest tickets in town are for the after parties. Bagatelle, the Meatpacking District's nightlife hotspot, is hosting numerous events for fashion week. On September 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Bagatelle kicks off Fashion Week with Sunset Sessions hosted by Rouge New York. Open to the public, people will have the opportunity to create custom lipstick shades at a bespoke beauty bar and receive complimentary makeup touch-ups while sipping cocktails.  Throughout the week, there will be exclusive private parties with Paris Hilton and Serena Williams.

Ask An Expert: Hottest Trends For Fall 2016

One of the most anticipated events at this season's Fashion Week is taking over The Theater at Madison Square Garden as Macy's Presents Fashion's Front Row. The high-energy fashion show will feature the fall's hottest looks and highlight special presentations of collections by some of the top designers, including Calvin Klein, Rachel Roy and Tommy Hilfiger. Ticketholders will also have the chance to see music sensations Ariana Grande and Flo Rida perform on stage while watching the models strut the runway.
