Attend the opening night gala for the Asian American International Film Festival tonight. First, watch a screening of SOLD, the film that sheds light on the brutality of the global crime of child and sex trafficking. Adapted from Patricia McCormick's globally acclaimed book, this movie seeks to raise pertinent dialogues about this catastrophic issue. The film screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Jeffrey D. Brown, producer Jane Charles, author Patricia McCormick, and actress Seriah Royin at Asia Society. Tonight's gala reception includes chef's tasting tables, an open bar, raffle & silent auction, and a gift bag. Admission is $150 for VIP, $75 for general admission, $65 for students/seniors, $50 members. Event begins at 7 p.m. (6 p.m for VIP).

Jazz enthusiasts should head over to the 92nd Street Y tonight and check out The Man with the Horn: Music of Miles Davis event happening tonight at 8 p.m. Some of the most brilliant players of jazz today will highlight Davis' songs such as "My Funny Valentine," and "Autumn Leaves" just to name a few. Tonight's musicians include Jeremy Pelt (trumpet), Ralph Moore (tenor sax), Steve Wilson (alto sax), Renee Rosnes (piano), Bill Charlap (piano), Peter Washington (bass) and Lewis Nash (drums). Tickets are $88.
