Come see the East Coast Premiere of The Girls on Liberty Street tonight at the Brooklyn Film Festival. The film, directed by John Rangel, follows the story of a young woman who is trying to make sure her home will be the same place when she returns from basic training. With her boyfriend pulling away, her sister growing up too fast, her brother falling under a bad influence, and her friends making plans without her, it’s looking like things will ultimately be different upon her return. Tickets are $12 and screening begins at 6 p.m.

This art exhibition and charity fundraiser is raising money for Art Start, the non-profit which helps create after school programs for underserved children throughout the five Boroughs who are interested in the arts and humanities. Show goes from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. and the ping pong tables will be open! Suggested ticket prices start at $20 and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Art Start.
