It goes without saying New Yorkers love bagels, and a recently opened West Village shop is capitalizing on the notion with a newly developed bagel treat. Bantam Bagels  pump their ball-shaped bagel bites with cream cheese on the inside. This month's featured bagel is the Jack, a pumpkin spiced bagel filled with pumpkin cream cheese and topped with spooky sesame seeds. This sweet, not savory, bagel and cream cheese combination will change the way you start your mornings this October.

This cozy cupcakery opened in Astoria during the spring seasom to the delight of neighbors. To celebrate Halloween, they're offering festively orange and black decorated chocolate Cake Pops and Cupcake Push Pops. All of their expertly frosted cupcakes are creatively named after television and film hits, possibly due to their close proximity to the stars and crew working at Kaufman Astoria Studios, like the popular Breakfast Club, a French Toast Cupcake with maple-infused vanilla buttercream frosting and topped with candied maple bacon. Another sweet they've mastered is the Chocolate Chip Nutella Sandwich Cookie, which we've recently discovered is a must-order for their soft, chewy texture with a creamy filling.

Banana Pudding and the Chocolate Bomb Pudding are available year-round at this favorite Lower East Side bakery, but only in the autumn months does the pumpkin pudding make its grand entrance. Dig your spoon into crumbled pumpkin cake, whipped cream and eggnog pudding. And don't forget their Pumpkin Cupcake with cream cheese frosting is available every season, when you need that pumpkin fix during the warmer months.

Magnolia, Pumpkin Patch
