B&C Show Blog & Audio: Lock Up A Jets Win!

Bobby Dwyer

We've made it to hump day, and thus far the entire week has been all about the Jets - and Wednesday was no different as Craig instructed Jets fans, "it's time to rock it out," because today is all about them.  Boomer will be heading to Florham Park following today's Radio Program to interview Mark Sanchez for the 'The NFL Today' and according to Booms the win over the Patriots was obviously very special, but he isn't worried that the Jets will have trouble shifting their focus from the Pats to the Steelers because they are fully aware of what is at stake this Sunday night in Pittsburgh.  All of that and the promise of a 'major announcement' from Craigie to kick off today's edition of the B&C Morning Extravaganza…

Plus, Joe & Evan will be hitting the road together and Jerry's update sparks a debate, Craig's big announcement is uttered with the use of his 'trusty' bullhorn, the Mets #1 starter Mike Pelfrey joins B&C in-studio to talk a little Mets baseball, Do You Know More Sports Than a Jets Fan That Al Has No Chance To Sleep With, former Steelers Coach Bill Cowher talks about this weekend's NFL action, Boomer old friend Anthony Munoz calls in, Jerry's Moment of the Day draws rave reviews and an 'Attention Grabber' with a common name but an uncommon figure…

When Craig got word that Joe Benigno & Evan Roberts, who host the mid-day show from 10am-1pm here on the FAN, were driving to Pittsburgh together this weekend, he had a little fun at their expense imagining how the trip may go.  Then Jerry's first update of the day provoked a discussion on whether or not the Jets need an 'enemy' in order to get pumped-up.  We also heard all about 'The Tool Box', some thoughts from Roger Goodell, some news from the Yankees & Mets and Craig morphs into Mikhail Prokhorov at the drop of a hat…

Craig teased his 'big announcement' regarding the Jets for the first hour of the Show and then when 7 o'clock rolled around, Craigie ended the suspense, reached for his usually trusty bullhorn and did the unthinkable.  Despite Boomer trying to prevent his radio partner from doing so, Craigie not only La-La-La Locked-Up a Jets win over the Steelers, but he took a step further and predicted the Jets will pitch a shutout and win the game by a score of 23-0.  To his credit he did pick the Pats to win last week, so safe to say he isn't being blinded by his love for the Green…

Taking a little break from all of the Jets talk, the guys welcomed Mike Pelfrey in-studio this morning.  Pelfrey, fresh-off of signing a new $3.9 million contract, talked about the Mets upcoming season and his new role as the team's #1 starter with Johan Santana currently on the shelf.  Craig also asked 'Big Pelf' what he thought about the Jets-Steelers game and was very disappointed to hear him pick Pittsburgh to win the game…

Then it was time for a special edition of the wildly popular game/trivia show, 'Do You Know Sports Than…A Jets Fan That Al Has No Chance of Sleeping With'.  A lovely Gal by the name of Jen filled the role of Al's 'forbidden fruit' and she was up against a guy named Terry who was calling from Queens.  Today's questions were all Jets themed and it's safe to say Terry didn't do much in the way of preparation…

Bill Cowher coached the Steelers to a win in Super Bowl XL before retiring back in January of 07.  Since then he has been working on 'The NFL Today' along with Boomer & the Gang and been at the heart of numerous rumors involving Head Coaching jobs.  But it appears at this point Cowher is happy doing what he is doing and he joined the guys today to give his thoughts on the Jets and their quest to get to the Super Bowl…

Anthony Munoz played offensive tackle for the Cincinnati Bengals (Who Dey!!!) from 1980-1992, a tremendous career that culminated with enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.  Just to put in perspective what kind of athlete Munoz is/was, in 1978 he was a pitcher on the USC baseball team that won a National Championship.  Well he joined B&C this morning to talk a little about his playing days, as well as offer a preview of this weekend's action…
