Lincoln Tunnel Traffic Snarled By Overturned Truck

WEEHAWKEN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Hours after a tractor-trailer truck fell on its side in Weehawken, workers have cleared up the debris and reopened the Lincoln Tunnel to traffic heading out of New York.

Port Authority spokesman Ron Marsico said the driver was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. The cause of the accident was under investigation.

The accident snarled New Jersey-bound traffic for about five hours Friday morning, throwing a huge snag in the plans of people trying to quit the city early Friday.

    As I sat southbound on 7th Avenue this morning for 1 hour and 45 mins. I continued to hear that the delay at the outbound Holland Tunnel was 10 mins.
    on 1010 WINS radio. Someone over there isn’t doing there job very well.

    what 15 minutes delay, busses are not even allowed to use the tunnel.
