When you think about Yankee baseball these days, it’s tough not to think about the name John Sterling, thanks to Boomer & Craig. Sterling is of course the Yankees radio play-by-play man, partnered up with Craig’s biggest fan Suzyn Waldman on WCBS 880.
Since coming on the air back in 2007, the guys have always made time to comment on some of Sterling’s gems, and there have been plenty of them.
Yesterday Sterling joined Joe Benigno & Evan Roberts on the midday Show (he doesn’t get up early enough to join the Morning Extravaganza) and played the humble card, talking about being flatterd by all of the attention he’s been receiving.
Craig was a little disappointed Sterling failed to give proper credit for the origins of his Curtis Granderson home run call, which was recommended by a B&C listener. He also thought Joe & Evan fawned over Sterling a bit much, but other than that he enjoyed hearing from Sterling outside of the booth…
