Report: NYC Officials, Yankees Exec Part Of NYPD Ticket-Fixing Scandal

Up To 40 Officers Being Investigated For Possible Wrongdoing

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — A person familiar with a probe at the New York Police Department told The Associated Press on Thursday that several high-ranking city government officials are among those who’ve had their traffic tickets fixed.

The person didn’t name the officials or say how many were involved. The person also confirmed a report a New York Yankees executive had a ticket fixed.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the case is the subject of a secret grand jury probe.

Law enforcement officials have said up to 40 police officers are being eyed for possible misconduct and criminal charges in the Bronx and scores more could be disciplined administratively. The criminal cases could be brought by July.

Union officials said undoing paperwork on traffic citations before they reach court as a favor isn’t criminal.

They fix moving violations, which would normally affect auto insurance rates and, possibly, ones drivers license, as well as parking tickets? I’m waiting to hear of a voided drunk driving summons being called “just routine”.

“Union officials said undoing paperwork on traffic citations before they reach court as a favor isn’t criminal.”

Really? Police are allowed to adjust official paperwork in exchange for favors? Really?? So that’s ok? At what point does it become criminal? Accepting money, good or services in exchange?

Or is it ok as long as you do favors for your family and friends but let the rest of us schmucks pay the piper? And you wonder why so many people don’t have confidence in your union members.

When something is wrong just say it’s wrong and don’t try to make special rules. It makes you sound like a criminal yourself.

The stink of the Billionaireberg administration just keeps getting worse. When will Billionaireberg be in court for his slush fund goings on with Ms Quinn sitting on his lap.
