NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Police investigating the case of a possible serial killer on Long Island plan to expand their search beyond where authorities have discovered 10 sets of human remains.

State police say they will begin searching the southern Wantagh State Parkway from Merrick Road to Ocean Parkway beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday.

Trooper Glenn Rodriguez says investigators are trying to be as thorough as possible.

He says the new search will continue for an undetermined amount of time.

Authorities have been investigating since sets of human remains were found along Ocean Parkway near Oak Beach in December. They had been looking for missing New Jersey prostitute Shannon Gilbert, who last seen in the area a year ago.

She has not been found, but four other bodies have been identified.

I thought all the property owners near there were using their influence to stop the investigation so their property values wouldn’t drop any further.

How can these crimes NOT be related. Get a clue Danny P or should I call you Magnum P.I.

Daniel P.

I think these bodies are the work of at least 2 unrelated criminals, and that someof these crimes are unrelated.
