Mark Sanchez: Jets Planning Full-Team Workout If NFL Lockout Drags On

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) — Mark Sanchez says it's time for "Jets West" to meet the rest. According to the quarterback, the entire team plans to work out together "sometime next month" if the NFL lockout drags on through June.

Sanchez, an in-studio guest on NFL Network on Wednesday night, says he and several offensive teammates "had plenty of fun" when they got together for five days in Southern California earlier this month.

Sanchez said "Jets West" was "exactly what we needed from an offensive skill standpoint, and now it's moving on to getting the whole team together. That will be sometime next month."

The third-year quarterback didn't say when or where the workouts would occur.

Sanchez also thinks the Jets will be able to re-sign wide receivers Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards and Brad Smith — all scheduled to be free agents.

"I honestly do," said Sanchez. "I think that's what Mike Tannenbaum does best and he's the best GM in football. (Woody) Johnson, that's part of his job. And Rex (Ryan), that's keeping all of us together. He wants the offense to run smooth, he wants us to pick up where we left off and to do that, we need all of our guys back. I think that would be the best-case scenario."

How about Sanchez's maturity as a team leader? Comment away below...
