Police Investigating Possible Midtown Hit-And-Run, Woman Critically Injured

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — An apparent domestic dispute inside a Midtown restaurant and bar early Saturday morning ended with both a 23-year-old woman and her 28-year-old boyfriend hospitalized.

Police said they believe the man, identified as 28-year-old Ricaury Pena, struck the woman with his SUV before fleeing the scene, only to crash hours later on Harlem River Drive.

The apparent hit-and-run happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday on 46th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Witnesses said the woman was coming out of a bar when she was hit by the speeding SUV apparently being driven by Pena her boyfriend.

Hours later, at around 8 a.m., the SUV crashed on Harlem River Drive just before the George Washington Bridge. The 28-year-old boyfriend, identified as Ricaury Pena of the Bronx, was taken to Harlem Hospital and was also listed in critical condition.

“She wasn’t an innocent pedestrian, she was a jealous girlfriend trying to stop him from leaving her…. very sad but not entirely his fault….”

So you think it his decision to try to kill her as a way of breaking up was ok? Crazy. She wasn’t driving, he was. She was the one hit by the car.

She was an innocent pedestrian, worse she was his intended target as he tried to purposely hit her and kill her. You don’t break up a relationship by trying to kill someone!
