BLOOMINGTON, IN (CBSNewYork/AP) – Lauren Spierer’s parents have once again stepped up their search for their missing daughter.
Their heartfelt appeal for information appeared on the website dedicated to the search, www.findlauren.com.
Spierer, originally from Westchester, disappeared on June 3rd after a night out with friends. A recent report suggested she was so incapacitated when she disappeared she could hardly stand. Video evidence showed Spierer stumbling out of an elevator, falling against a wall and being helped to her feet by a friend on the night she disappeared.
“There is no reason to think the people Lauren was last with, wouldn’t do everything in their power to help us find her,” Spierer’s parents write in their new blog post. “But, alas, there is deafening silence. That silence compounds our frustration, our desperation and our grief in not having found Lauren. It threatens to be our undoing but make no mistake, we will never give up. ”
A company that runs a western Indiana landfill recently said it was cooperating with the FBI, who wanted to conduct a search there.
Meanwhile, the heartbreak and exasperation of the fruitless search is evident in the post by Charlene and Rob Spierer.
“It is impossible to explain, as we continue to search for Lauren, what the experience of having a missing child is like. There is no explanation for why this has happened. Imagine learning one of the most important people in your world has disappeared and there is not enough information available from friends and acquaintances to find them,” they wrote.
They also released a new poster of the missing girl, which shows her smiling, with sunglasses perched on the top of her head. Spierer is 4’11”, 95 pounds, has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black pants and a white top.
