NJ Man Ticketed For Driving Motorcycle With Dog In Lap

MARLBORO, NJ (CBSNewYork) - It was one ruff ride for a motorcycle enthusiast from Tuckerton.

Gyula Szatmari, 56, was cruising on his red BMW motorcycle on Tennent Road with his favorite passenger aboard: His pet pug Bosco, who was sitting in his lap, the Asbury Park Press reported.

According to the report, Szatamari was spotted by a member of the Monmouth County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The police were called, and Szatamari was pulled over.

He was ticketed for careless driving and improper transportation of an animal, according to the report.

Szatamari reportedly told police he'd been riding with his dog that way for years.

He's expected in court Oct. 13.
