B&C Morning Show: Surprise Guest Phil Simms Talks Wine And Friendship
Legendary quarterback and current NFL on CBS analyst Phil Simms surprised Boomer and Craig this morning by calling into the hotline for an impromptu interview.
And much like was the case with James Brown earlier this morning, the guys spent very little time talking about football. In fact, when Boomer started to steer the conversation in that direction, Craig seemed to get upset.
But among the things they did discuss was Boomer and Phil's excursion to a winery where they each bottled their very own wine. It became clear that Simms wasn't nearly as particular about his bottling as Boomer was. But apparently Phil does know how to soak a cork real good...ahem...let's just hope you didn't read that sentence too quickly...Moving on...
Boomer also calls out Simms for referring to him as "some people" during his spot on Mike Francesa's show last week.
When they do eventually get to football, Simms gives you the team that impressed him most in Week 1.
Obviously Craig wasn't going to be able to get through the entire interview without asking a question about Phil's broadcast partner, because hello friends, it's Jim Nantz.
Phil proudly flaunts he and Nantz's friendship, and mentions that he will be presenting Jimmy with a case of his new wine. This causes Boomer to go through a list of gifts he's gotten Craigie, only to receive a rocking chair and a stump seat in return.
