Crash On Long Island Kills Mother And 7-Year-Old Son

MANORVILLE, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Police are investigating a crash in Suffolk County that killed a mother and her son and left her two other children critically injured.

Police say 30-year-old Keri Trinca was driving on the Oceanview Boulevard extension in Manorville Saturday evening when her car collided with a van.

Trinca was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 7-year-old son Jason was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Trinca's 4-year-old daughter and her 2-year-old son were airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center and were last listed in critical condition.

The driver of the van, 51-year-old Steven Vonfricken, and his passenger, 50-year-old Edward James, were taken to the hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
