WCBS 880’s Alex Silverman On The Story
In Kenilworth, New Jersey, the parking lot at the Galloping Hill golf course was almost full.
If one man WCBS 880 reporter Alex Silverman spoke with was a skier, he might have been in the office this morning.
“It’s an opportunity to get some golf in,” said the man, who didn’t want to give his name, but it’s not his boss he’s worried about.
“Skipping work, trying to hide it from my employees so they don’t go out,” he said.

“We don’t really budget for a whole lot of rounds this time of year,” said golf course sales manager Greg Ward, who calls all of this gravy. “We just take what Mother Nature gives us.”

WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs On The Story
The calendar reads winter, but it feels more like spring here at the Jones Beach boardwalk, where Judy has some concerns over all this beautiful weather.
“Well, it’s wonderful, but it’s a little strange. There’s something a little too weird that it’s going to go to 60 degrees this week. I mean, I’m grateful not to have to take out my snowblower, but i find this very odd,” she told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs.
There were easily a couple hundred people at the beach strolling the boardwalk, enjoying the mild temperatures and feeling the sunshine in their faces.
The view – spectacular, says Anne from Hicksville.
For the record no one is wearing swimsuits.
