Police Questioning 2 Young Men Following Robbery, Shove Of 81-Year-Old

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The New York Police Department is talking to two young men seen in surveillance pictures following the robbery of an 81-year-old that left him lying in the subway tracks.

Authorities say the robbery went down Feb. 17 around 11:45 p.m. on the Lorimer Street J train platform.

One of the duo allegedly snatched an iPhone from and 81-year-old and took off. The victim wasn't having it, and started chasing the thief.

That's when police say the thief's accomplices shoved him, and the 81-year-old tumbled into the tracks. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The suspects were described as minors. One was approximately 6'0", wearing a black Adidas hoodie, black sneakers and blue jeans. The other suspect is 5'8" and wore a red shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

While two young men are being questioned, there have been no official arrests at this time.
