NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – The New York Police Department is talking to two young men seen in surveillance pictures following the robbery of an 81-year-old that left him lying in the subway tracks.

Authorities say the robbery went down Feb. 17 around 11:45 p.m. on the Lorimer Street J train platform.

One of the duo allegedly snatched an iPhone from and 81-year-old and took off. The victim wasn’t having it, and started chasing the thief.

That’s when police say the thief’s accomplices shoved him, and the 81-year-old tumbled into the tracks. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The suspects were described as minors. One was approximately 6’0″, wearing a black Adidas hoodie, black sneakers and blue jeans. The other suspect is 5’8″ and wore a red shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

While two young men are being questioned, there have been no official arrests at this time.

Considering the two young men are minors, what do you think the appropriate punishment would be if they are convicted of the crime? Sound off in our comments section below.
