Suffolk County Police ID Body Found In Burning Car

NISSEQUOGUE, NY (CBSNewYork) – Police in Suffolk County are investigation after a body was found inside a burning car in Nissequogue.

Police identified the body as 45-year-old Lauren Fontana of Middle Island.

Investigators say just before noon on March 6, someone called 911 to report a car fire in a parking lot on Short Beach Road in Nissequogue.

Once firefighters put out the blaze, police say they found Fontana’s body inside the car.

Detectives are still investigating. Anyone with information should call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
