Police: Man In Pajamas Found Unconscious At Bottom Of Embankment In Smithtown

SMITHTOWN, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Suffolk County say a man was found unconscious by a newspaper delivery man early Tuesday morning.

Around 4:30 a.m., police say the delivery man found a man in his pajamas at the bottom of an embankment off Bishops Road in Smithtown.

Police say the man, who was described as being in his 60s or 70s, was suffering from hypothermia. He was taken to the hospital where he was admitted into the critical care unit.

Investigators say several hours later, he regained consciousness and was able to identify himself, but police are still trying to figure out how he ended up at the bottom of the embankment.
