EAST HAVEN (CBSNewYork/AP) - Perhaps she thought it was a drive through liquor store?

Sharon Brooks' vehicle crossed over the sidewalk, crashed through the entrance and went down the center aisle of the store at around 2:30 p.m., knocking down bottles of alcohol and terrifying those inside, according to police.

A worker at the liquor store suffered minor injuries. Brooks was not injured in the crash.

After leaving the East Haven Police station Friday, Brooks told a reporter with NBC Connecticut that she was not drunk, but that she had a cold and took Nyquil. She also said she recently had her car cleaned and someone put Armor All on her brake pad and that her foot slipped off the brake.

She was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving. She was released on $5,000 bail.
