MONTAUK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - ”Good to excellent” is how many Hamptons business people are labeling the summer of 2012.
WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs On The Story
Restaurants seem to have had the most success and La Bodega in Montauk is an example.
“Everybody that came in here was spending,” Manager Andrea Locasceo told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs. “They weren’t afraid to spend. We had lots of big families, big parties. Like I said, they spent a lot of money.”
Shop owners, however, were not gloating as much. But they weren’t disappointed either.
“Weekends were very nice. During the week, it was okay, but the weekends were more,” said Frank Fratecelly, who runs a souvenir store.
These merchants credit all the sunshine for a good season.
