Jets' Cromartie: Outside Revis, I'm Best Cornerback In NFL
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Antonio Cromartie has already claimed his position as the Jets' second-best wide receiver.
Turns out he also thinks he's the No. 2 cornerback in the NFL. And with Darrelle Revis out, Cromartie said Thursday that he now reigns supreme.
"None," Cromartie told the New York Daily News when asked how many cornerbacks -- outside of Revis -- boasted a better game.
Cromartie answered "Yup" to a series of follow-up questions, including whether he was better than Eagles star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugah.
The 28-year-old, who called the Jets "Revis' team," admitted he struggles at times with his focus and consistency.
There's no such issue with Cromartie's confidence.
"I have said that I'm the second-best corner in the NFL," he told the Daily News. "I'm not backing off what I said. I don't care what anyone else believe... I know what I'm capable of when I'm at the top of my game."
Cromartie has nine tackles (six solo) on the season, and returned his lone interception for a touchdown in Week 1 against the Bills.
