Victor Cruz Previews Redskins Game With Francesa

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Victor Cruz joined Mike Francesa on Tuesday evening to chat about the Giants' 38-10 victory over the Packers and shared his thoughts on the Giants' upcoming Monday night meeting with the Redskins.

"It felt good.  Everything (was) rolling.  Eli was playing well, offense, defense came to play. It was a good win, one that we definitely needed," Cruz said.

Francesa asked Cruz what made the difference for the Giants in Week 12.

"It was definitely the rest, on top of having a solid week of practice," Cruz responded.

15-year-old Adam Merchant from Barre, Vt. made an impact on the Giants ahead of their clash with the Packers.  The Make-A-Wish boy delivered an inspirational speech to the Giants at Friday's practice.

"It was really inspiring to see a kid that's facing so much adversity," Cruz stated.  The only thing he wanted to say to us was -- 'Go out there and play like champions.'  It inspired me personally and inspired a lot of us."

Cruz told Francesa, "He kept saying this is awesome, this is awesome."

Eli Manning told Francesa yesterday, "The whole team always rallies around these kids."

Cruz previewed the Giants' Monday night match-up with the Redskins.  Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III is one of the most electrifying players in the NFL.

"He's a unique player, man.  He's a special player," Cruz said of Griffin.

"It's going to be tough.  We're going to see him for a long time and be ready to play."

Cruz also pinpointed Pierre Garcon as a threat in the Redskins' passing game.

"They've got Pierre Garcon back.  They've got some talented guys on the outside, so it's going to be a challenge for us.  As usual, we have to step up and play them for the challenge," he explained.

The Redskins are coming off an inspirational 38-31 Thanksgiving victory over the Cowboys.

"They're going to be ready to play for us.  We've just got to be prepared," Cruz said.

Cruz believes Hakeem Nicks is ready to have some big performances.

"Hakeem is playing really well, so they can't just key-in on me.  Hakeem is going to start making teams pay for leaving him in single coverage," Cruz stated.

Giants fans will be delighted if Cruz and Nicks have big games against Washington on Monday night.

Is Cruz primed to have a big game against the 'Skins on Monday night?  Let us know...
