Glennon is the mother of three children and the founder of the popular online community Momastery.com.

She's also the author of the book "Carry On Warrior," which comes out on Tuesday.

"Parenting is the best thing I've ever done, it's the most important job I have, and it's also the hardest job I have," Glennon said on The Couch.

"We go into it thinking that every moment is supposed to be ecstasy, and then we feel guilty when it's not - because it's not," she said.

"Getting up in the middle of the night with crying babies is hard, being in shopping lines with 'tantrum-ing' children is hard, and raising teenagers is hard."

This is why she wrote her controversial essay, "Don't Carpe Diem," which shared some painful truths about parenting. It's also why she wrote her book.

"I just started talking about the truths of the beauty of parenthood, but also, the difficulties. I've just been so comforted by the thousands of women who agreed."
